Blood Simple

Once there was a cat who lived a comfortable life in a medium-sized city. Comfort turned into complacency which did not suit the cat's restless nature, nor her personal attitude towards security and its silent dangers. Being astrologically predisposed to temptation, the cat suddenly decided to leave behind all that she knew for a grand (though somewhat ill-planned) adventure which involved much that was amazing, beautiful, frightening and at times dangerous.
She learned not to wander alone at 3am on the wrong side of town. To stay out of Brixton. To eat raw green chillies like it's nobody's business. To speak another language. She learned that tradies are a crass bunch no matter what country one is in. That alcohol can turn people of all ethnicities into lecherous fools. That it is possible to go months without smoking pot. She developed a taste for foreign foods. She made new friends and achingly missed the ones she'd left behind. The cat emerged relatively unscathed from her many wanderings with a head full of perspective and a heart heavy with nostalgia.
She is currently perched on the Tree of Peace and Chaos being petted by the Branch of Limbo.
